We, Kamnoetvidya Science Academy (KVIS), were happy to welcome a group of 8 young talented students and Mr. Jeong Myeong Ju, the chaperone teacher, from Korea Science Academy of KAIST (KSA), as part of our cultural exchange program, from 23 to 29 June 2025. The KSA senior students (Jinhwang, Donghyun, Juneho, Junmin, Junseok, Chanhu, Honggeun and Sophia from Grade 12) and the Math teacher actively participated in a variety of activities at KVIS. On behalf of KVIS management team, Prof. Dr. Boonchoat Paosawatyanyong, School Principal, Dr. Phornsant Lertwitthayawiwat, Vice Principal (Academic), and Asst. Prof. Dr. Surachai Thachepan, Vice Principal (Administrative), were pleased to have the KSA team with us for this visit.
Thanks to the warm hospitality and friendliness from KVIS buddies and staff, the KSA members felt comfortable joining the activities at KVIS and exploring Thai culture and traditions. Throughout the week, the KSA team had opportunities to interact in the classroom with KVIS teachers and buddies and understand more on Thainess through a hands-on experience in cooking Thailand’s famous dish “Pad Thai” and learning Thai language.
Apart from the school experience, the KSA team visited Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC) and were greeted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanit Pewnim, Assistant to the President. Thanks to Dr Thanit, the KSA exchange members were able to gain insights into the research environment and have hands-on experience with an Atomic Resolution Analytical Electron Microscope at this leading research institute in Thailand. In addition, the KSA members had a chance to learn about PTT LNG’s cold energy utilization at “Miracle of Natural”.
The KSA team also had a great time discovering the local Thai life in Baan Khlong Pai Community and spent the weekend time with their KVIS buddies at the beach in Rayong. These excursion trips not only allowed the KSA members to explore the beautiful scenery in the eastern part of Thailand but also helped strengthening the friendship and peer bonds.
We, KVIS, were delighted to meet the KSA team members. We hope you all had a memorable time filled with smiles and relaxation.
See you next time, KSA!
