Today officially marks the first day of the 9th KVIS-ISF, welcoming over 180 students and teachers from 13 countries to Kamnoetvidya Science Academy, Thailand. This year’s event features 67 student research projects across eight fields of study, including Biology, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Computer Science, and Environmental Science.

Throughout the morning and afternoon, participants arrived at KVIS, completed registration, and checked into the dormitories. Students met their buddies and spent time exploring the school to familiarise themselves with the campus environment. Meanwhile, some participants prepared their posters for the presentations scheduled for tomorrow.
In the afternoon, an Ice-Breaking Activity was held at the auditorium. The session included several fun and interactive activities that encouraged teamwork, movement, and conversation. These activities helped participants feel more comfortable, make new friends, and enjoy a friendly and welcoming start to the science fair.
The evening continued with Thai snacks and dinner, featuring a variety of traditional Thai desserts such as fruit-shaped mung bean sweets (Luk Chup), coconut pancakes (Khanom Krok), Thai jelly, sweet potato balls, fried bananas, and other local delicacies. This session allowed participants to relax, experience Thai culture, and share friendly conversations in an enjoyable atmosphere.
The day concluded with a briefing session for the 9th KVIS International Science Fair. During the session, organisers explained the overall schedule, important rules, and key information. After the briefing, participants returned to their rooms to rest and prepare for the important activities and presentations in the following days.
We hope that all participants at KVIS will have a pleasant stay this week. It is our hope that this educational science fair will provide opportunities for students to make new friends, gain new skills, and broaden their horizons.
