Under the lights of the Thongchai-Chew-Pricha Auditorium, participants gathered for the opening ceremony, marking the commencement of the 9th Kamnoetvidya Invitational Science Fair (KVIS-ISF). The event began with representatives from participating countries introducing themselves, followed by a cultural performance by KVIS students. Principal Professor Dr. Boonchoat Paosawatyanyong then delivered the official report of the fair. Dr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, Chairman of the KVIS Board and President of the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST), delivered the opening address, officially declaring the 9th KVIS-ISF open.
Mr. Kantapat Damsrisawat, KVIS student representative and head of the 9th KVIS-ISF Board Committee, welcomed all participants on behalf of the KVIS student body. He expressed the school's enthusiasm in hosting the fair and introduced the keynote speaker, Dr. Robert Baker, a materials science expert from Ohio, USA. Dr. Baker delivered an engaging presentation on current trends in materials science and future opportunities in the field. School representatives then presented highlights of their selected projects before all participants gathered for a group photo and proceeded to lunch.
In the afternoon, the core of the science fair commenced: project presentations. The first day featured poster presentations held at the Academic Resource Center (ARC). This year's fair comprises eight project categories spanning a wide range of disciplines: Mathematics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Materials Science, Biology, Environmental Science, Physics, and Engineering. Participants showcased their research and innovations through engaging discussions within their respective fields, fostering interdisciplinary exchange and collaboration.
The day concluded with a welcome dinner featuring Thai cuisine and cultural performances, offering participants an immersive experience of Thai food and traditions. The evening's highlight was a fire dancing performance by skilled acrobats at KVIS's the Circle. The event provided participants with valuable opportunities to network and build connections with peers from around the world.
