Dr. Surachai Thachepan graduated with a BSc in Chemistry with first class Honors from Kasetsart University, Thailand. He completed his MSc in Chemistry at Kyoto University, Japan and a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Bristol, UK. He has been a recipient of several scholarships; including the Thai government’s Development and Promotion of Science and Technology Talents Project (DPST), The Japanese government’s Monbusho scholarship, the Overseas Research Student Scholarship (ORSAS), and the University of Bristol’s Postgraduate Research Scholarship. His research interests include nanoscience and nanotechnology, materials chemistry, biomineralization and biomaterials, porous materials and catalysis, and cement chemistry. In addition to working at KVIS, Dr. Surachai Thachepan is also an assistant professor of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, Kasetsart University. He firmly believes that everyone is unique and can excel in something, if proper mentoring is given. He has played an important role in the shaping of Kamnoetvidya Science Academy from the beginning. Prior to being the vice principal of KVIS, he assisted in many gifted education projects in science and mathematics, including the Princess Chulabhorn Science High School project, Chemistry Olympiad and the Teacher Scholarship Selection Committee.
