KVIS’s Students for Gold medal and Innovation Excellence Award in International British INNOVATION, INVENTION, TECHNOLOGY EXHIBITION (IBIX) 2020

 

A science project from Kamnoetvidya Science Academy (KVIS) in Thailand won the gold medal and Innovation Excellence Award in IBIX 2020, Project of Mr. Passavorn Limmeechokchai from grade 12, Mr. Sukpawat Moungsombat and Ms. Kanok Sirilapyanonth from grade 11 under the research category with the project titled “Modification of Li-S Battery with Irradiated Activated Carbon Derived from Glutinous Rice”.  

 

IBIX was held from 15 November to 15 December 2020. Due to the pandemic COVID-19, IBIX was held online in London, United Kingdom. There were more than 600 projects applied for awards from all over 32 countries.

 

IBIX is synonymous to the best in innovation and inventions. The international competition, the “British Innovation Award”, is targeted at all those who would like to distinguish their creativity, innovation, and ingenuity. The distinction is based on the principle of selection and presentation. Excellent inventions are selected by competent expert juries by evaluation based on fields of innovation, ingenuity, potential for commercialization, product design, beneficial concepts, and design concepts. The British Inventor Award is presented in 5 categories consisted of industry, research, international, SMEs and lifetime achievement.

 

As the project was awarded under the first prize in the national competition of Thailand, GPSC Young Social Innovator SS2; it was selected as the country representative to nominated in IBIX.
