Princess Sirindhorn visits

HRH Princess Sirindhorn visited Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Technology (VISTEC), Wangchan Valley, Rayong on Thursday, the 2nd of February, 2017. She reached VISTEC by 08:10 AM and was welcomed by Gen. Anantaporn Kanjanarat, Minister of Energy of Thailand, Mr. Tewin Wongwanit, CEO of PTT, Dr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, Chairman of Governing Councils of KVIS and VISTEC, along with the officials of various projects of PTT, KVIS and VISTEC. She was also welcomed by the bureaucrats and officials of Thai Army in Rayong Province. Earlier she landed at PTT's Reforestation project at Wangchan, Rayong on 1st February, 2017 around 03:30 PM. She then went to VISTEC campus, met with the Governing and Academic councils of VISTEC and stayed there overnight.

She issued the Sirimedhi shcholarships for outstanding performers of VISTEC. The representatives of KVIS and VISTEC received the brooch of the Princess in the ceremony. This brooch was issued for the new faculty, staff and the second generation students of KVIS.

HRH Princess Sirindhorn gave a special lecture on "Development of National Education for Sustainability" This lecture was attended by the diplomats and delegates from various countries, parents of KVIS and VISTEC cohorts and many other distinguished guests. Many visitors were enable to attend this lecture by the large LED displays in various locations of VISTEC campus.

After the lecture, she visited the labs of VISTEC and then to the exhibition which portrayed achievements of KVIS and VISTEC. KVIS got student publications in internationally eminent journals. These publications were displayed in the exhibition and Dr. Thonchai Chewprecha, director of KVIS explained every exhibits of KVIS. KVIS students also presented their research projects to the Princess. It was indeed a proud moment for the students who contributed towards those exhibited.
