KVIS had hosted the exchange program of another team of 4 students and a Physics Teacher from Gyeonggi Science High School for the Gifted (GSHS), Republic of Korea, during 12 - 19 February 2017. The GSHS exchange students also had an opportunity to study in the class of their KVIS grade10 student buddies and conducted the collaborative research together under the supervision of both KVIS and GSHS chaperone teachers. The exchange team also had a chance to do experiments at the labs of Vidyasirimedhi Institute (VISTEC), under the supervision of senior advisor, Dr. Thanit Pewnim, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Daniel Crespy, faculty with the School of Molecular Science and Engineering, VISTEC.

Apart from the academic activities, the GSHS exchange team got to learn more about Thai culture by attending special classes held by KVIS teachers, including Thai language, Muay Thai, and art classes. They also enjoyed spending their “homestay weekend” with KVIS buddies and their host families, exploring and visiting various attractions in Bangkok.

The exchange programs were a grand success as the students gained better understanding in science and mathematics education and Thai culture. Most importantly, both the students and teachers form GTC and GSHS had developed friendship with KVIS students and teachers, which will continue for years to come.
